a productive out would be moving the runners around or scoring them when you get out. A non productive out is when you don't hit behind the runners to move them or not sacrificing yourself to move all runners.

a productive out is where you can move the runner over....., like a sac fly, or sac bunt. or a hitting a ground ball with a person on second, you get out at first, and the person at second gets to third

a PRODUCTIVE OUT IS ONE IN WHICH YOU HAVE MOVED A RUNNER SAY FROM SECOND BASE TO THIRD...EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE OUT ITS MUCH MORE LIKELY THAT THE TEAM WILL SCORE BECAUSE OF YOUR LAST AT BAT....A NON-PRODUCTIVE OUT IS ONE WHERE THE RUNNERS CAN'T ADVANCE AND ARE AT THE SAME BASE BEFORE AND AFTER YOU WERE AT BAT!
