I'm trying to install a DVD-RW drive but can't take the computer apart because the screws have circle middles. how do you remove these screws?

Go to support.dell.com and type in the model number. Select User's guide.
It will give you step by step with pictures on how to open the case, install the drive, etc.

the case on my dell just has a button. the case opens like a book. it would help to know the model of computer...ok dimension 3000 there should be a large thumb screw at the top right on the back of the case, turn that until its loose. slide the 'J-lock' down while pulling the side cover backward. Hope that helps!

Those are essentially rivets, not screws - look over the case, Dells have latches and buttons to allow access to their internals. Then they use standard phillips head screws.

Call Dell techinal hotline. Or send your PC to a service center or something.

Probably with a small screwdriver?! They sell tool kits made for electronics. I have one made by Fellows.
