Well, I'm from Spain. Unemployment is high but not as much as people tend to think, we are one of the countries whose economy is increasing more rapidly and we create 1/4 of all the employment in European Union. Unemployment rates are 8,5% (they used to be 14%) and economic growth is 3,6% at the moment.

Education is not bad. Trust me. Much better than other places in Europe. Type of education? Well, you may send children to kindergarten until they're 3 y.o. After that they do 3 years in preliminary school. Then, 6 years in primary school until they are 12. Secondary school lasts 4 years, from 12 to 16. Until 16, education is free, you only pay for the books but that's it and it's compulsory (from 6 to 16). Then you decide if you actually do a technical course, go to the job market or you do "Bachiller" which are two years 16-18 to prepare you for University. That's free as well. Then at 18, you can go to University which is cheap, one year in a public University is around 1000 € fee and they are better than private Universities.
