Fuad Sharbaji, former director of Syrian national television, wrote in an article in the Teshreen daily, titled "Hassan Nasrallah and Some Advice to Rice on Skinning the Cat": "...As Syrian Arabs, we stand beforeRice and say to the entire world: We will never agree to any force that tries to take away our weapons of honor, and we will not allow Israel to achieve its goals through international forces or NATO forces or multinational forces.

"We in Syria not only stand by the resistance, but we are preparing for any unforeseen circumstance and for any event. We in Syria, with wise rationalism, are armed with honor in order to deal with any aggression, and we are armed with what is needed in order to hurt the enemy and to spring surprises on him that will complement what the Lebanese resistance has done.

Very funny. There is no "Lebanese resistance", just a terrorist group called Hezbollah, that is illegally occupying southern Lebanon.

The democratic government of Lebanon benefits from the removal of Hezbollah, as it allows them to control all of their own country. And, they are in fact, under a UN mandate to remove Hezbollah and secure their southern border. Israel is doing them a favor. Which is why, while lebanon does complain, they don't complain very much.

Whatever remains of the destroyed Hezbollah, will melt back into Syria. At that point, Syria is surrounded by unfriendly nations (Iraq, Turkey, Lebanon, and Jordan). They are basically screwed, and they know it. If they try to start something, Israeli tanks will be in Damascus before they can say "holy sheit".

Iran has their own problems. The UN is mad at them, Europe finally has woken up, and they too are now surrounded by unfriendly nations (Iraq, Russia and the former Soviet client states, as well as Afghanistan, and Pakistan). If they continue down their present path, at best they become isolated like North Korea, and at worst they get nuked. Not a good path to be on.

No, I don't think so. Syrian army is not modern and several strikes on airport might end their air force.
Also, as far as I think, Syrian air defense ( an important factor ) is weak. Don't forget, war for Syrian means a march of regular army.
Iran is not going to interfere, as far as I think. Iran is far and it will take time to demobilize, also, Irans rockets might be expensive to use.
After all, USA, I think, already has a plane carrier in the Mediterranean sea and forces in Iraq. Any conflict might make USA interfere.
Anyway, I think future might carry a regime changes in region and people cannot wait to get rid of Israel who killed and keep killing and threatening people in the region.
And Almighty Allah knows better.
Thank You.

Arab nations tried bullying Israel before and Israel defeated them in less than 6 days. Israel has the best military in the middle east.
