You should never have to pay an agent to represent you. Agents get a cut of your check once you get a gig.

It's nearly impossible to get an agent without professional experience, a headshot, and if you're not in any unions.

If you're like 15 or so, I recommend you stay in school. Get as much performing experience as possible then try auditioning for small roles etc. www.actorsexpress.com

Also, you can try sending your headshot, resume, and demo reel to different agents and maybe they'll interview you. I recommend The Abrahms Agency in NYC.

Checking with your fellow actors and directors is a good bet, but there is a LOT of truth in perfecting your craft before seeking advancement. Normally agents will approach you, at least that is my experience, and that only happened after I was reviewed in almost every play I performed in that year. Concern yourself with becoming the best you can be. The "fame" can come later. Never lose your love for the art, and beware of the false agents out there. When you are ready, find a photographer who does good work with an affordable price tag and get your headshots done. Keep a running track of the productions you've done and what parts you've played so you can perfect your resume. Be prepared, confident and cautious. Do your homework (quickly) on a prospective agent and choose wisely, they can make or break your career.

No, everyone in the world does NOT want to be a celebrity. Also, there is a VAST differenc ebetween being a celebrity and being a true actress or actor. You don't mention your age (I suspect very young) and to get an agent (anywhere) you need to study your craft for YEARS, acing in high school plays, community theater, and take classes. Then, perhaps you can worry about an agent. You are YEARS away from that point, I suspect.

properly some take extra or much less. working example, i found an agent that took approximately 25% and one that took 5%. yet 10% is fairly good. each so often the 25% do no longer probably have that many consumers, so as this is why they ask that plenty. each so often the 5% ones locate lots of jobs for his or her consumers, so they'd locate the money for to get in basic terms that plenty. it is your decision. yet i think of that the main inexpensive, the extra clever. you need to additionally examine comments of distinctive companies. i don't be responsive to any American ones ( I stay in Europe), yet basically google expertise brokers. wish you have a brilliant expertise profession! P.S.you opt for for to take area in HIT seek usa, top? If no longer, examine it out. this is a very cool contest.

Call the theaters where you performed and ask them to give you the names and telephone numbers of agents. They can give you the best advice, since you live in the area.

We are not familiar with where you live, or, have knowledge of the theaters/agents in your city.
