Ecclesiastes
Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher; “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity.” 1:3 What does man gain from all his labor in which he labors under the sun? 1:4 One generation goes, and another generation comes; but the earth remains forever. 1:5 The sun also rises, and the sun goes down, and hurries to its place where it rises. 1:6 The wind goes toward the south, and turns around to the north. It turns around continually as it goes, and the wind returns again to its courses. 1:7 All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full. To the place where the rivers flow, there they flow again. 1:8 All things are full of weariness beyond uttering. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing. 1:9 That which has been is that which shall be; and that which has been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. 1:10 Is there a thing of which it may be said, “Behold, this is new?” It has been long ago, in the ages which were before us. 1:11 There is no memory of the former; neither shall there be any memory of the latter that are to come, among those that shall come after.

Remember Nietzsche's famous inflammatory proclamation, "God is dead?" Well, when God died so did man's purpose for living. Human beings are a wonderful creation, unique from all other creatures. We have a magnificent body, a heart that can with regular exercise pump ceaselessly for over 75 years, with no rest.
A brain, 3 pounds of electro-chemical actions, the most complex matter in the universe resides inside your head. You brain has the original expandable memory, we can learn , think and build upon knowledge. Yet, we are tainted by our sin, the rebellion against God that has marred God's crowning achievement. You are here to enjoy life, the only way to do that is through faith in Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, so you can be reconciled to God.(Romans 5:10) After one believes in this, God sends His Spirit to live in you forever., which guarantees our future in heaven. (Ephesians 1:13,14) Then read the instructions for a life with God, Romans - 2 Thessalonians. Read especially Galatians 5: 16-26. Talk to God everyday in prayer(Hebrews 4:14-16) This is what life is all about.

You'll find it in this book: "The Feeling Good Handbook", by Dr. David Burns.
I found what I was looking for and life is pretty damn enjoyable now. I was depressed for nearly five years and tried to "off myself" a couple of times. Fortunately, I crawled out of that miserable existence. You can too, if you want to bad enough.
The point of this existence is to be happy and content. I am all of that now.
'nuff said?

Oh, you're probably gonna hate this answer. The point is to glorify God in your heart, actions and speech. To be an ambassador for Him. After a long critical/honest evaluation of your self, life then takes on an outward focus.

Well I can tell you this, I have looked high and low and found out money is not the answer. Men are not the answer or woman in your case. The answer is inner peace if you can be at peace with yourself and the people around you then and only then can you resolve that empty lonely feeling that we all feel from time to time.

Sometimes I find what I am looking for under the couch. [But now the couch is gone as I am getting a new one so it ain't there]. Sometimes I find what I am looking for under one of my piles of stuff; sometimes it is it in my car, sometimes I left it at work. Most times though, it really is nowhere to be found, not even on the internet. Ah well. Such is life.

Hey Buddy,
It's just around the corner. Remember, it's always darkest just before the dawn, and around every cloud is a silver lining, because after all, a smile is just a frown turned upside down, and lots of other useless crap.
Feel better now?

Doncha just hate it when you misplace things?! You probably left it in place of the shirt you're wearing in the laundry basket you dug through. Good luck.

Every single person is looking for happiness. If you haven't found it yet, then you're looking in the wrong places.

there isn't one - life has absolutely no point, it was just an accident, however, here's an encouraging thought: since there is no point to anything and life exists - it becomes it's own point so THE POINT OF LIFE IS LIFE ITSELF, so stop worrying and just live it
