Please diregard all the redneck import hating comments on here. And for god sake, the neon is one of the gayest cars ever made. Most people that diss honda's and say they can't be fast don't know what the hell they are talking about.
If you have a 2002 LX the first thing you'd need to do if you're wanting any type of serious performance is look into an engine swap. Try http://www.honda-tech.com Search for swaps, I'm sure you'll find plenty of info.

well, honda does stand for How Odd No Damn Acceleration... so try this, buy a dodge neon and a 20ft tow cable, then attach the tow cable to the front of the civic and to the rear of the neon, take off in the neon with the civic in neutral.. there you go

A turbo or supercharger with intercooler and accessories. Lighter rims, sticker tires. Blow any stock Mustang in the weeds. About 5 to 7 pounds of boost on a stock motor, any more and you will be blowing your motor in the weeds.

you will desire to alter oil AND clear out each and every 3 to 6 thousand miles. the subject with no longer doing that's that oil gets grimy, regardless of a clear out and the combustion technique contaminates the oil with acid. enable it pass long adequate and the clear out clogs so there isn't any filtration of airborne dirt and dirt and metallic debris and the acid builds to the point that it eats away engine factors best to early engine failure. in case you're having to characteristic oil in lots of cases then you definitely the two have a leaky gasket someplace or the acid and airborne dirt and dirt have worn factors to the element that your engine is burning oil. in case you notice a bluish smoke popping out of your exhaust you're burning oil.

Tighten up your suspension first..... and remember, Honda's are not made to go fast. They have no torque.
