When you go ouside do you hear a loud sound..I am not sure if it is a bug or a bird..sounds like a buzzing that goes on for a while, then stops and repeats itself. I hear it only in the hot summer months

It's a cicadia. They are large insects that have wings and are a releative of the locust.

That would have to be one of the following;
locusts,
cicadas,
catydids,
or an alien space craft.

I think it's a kind of beetle, I hear it often too. Why it does this I don't know, it's just natural for it.
