I dont get it. If I was a famous celebrity I could get away with drinking and driving, public nudity, and just flat out being STUPID. If britney spears would have been rejected from the mickey mouse club, shed be in the same situation shes in now only in a trailor with a fatter husband and probably on government assistance! What is your opinion.. and what other celbrity can we make fun of this evening?

I think celebrities use their status to get away with too many things, which sets a bad example for those who idolize them, but I also think that some non-celebrities are just as stupid as they are. I'm sure you must know someone that has done something stupid and gotten away with it. The celebrities just happen to be the ones in the spotlight, so we see more of their stupidity.
As for Britney, you are probably right. The Mickey Mouse Club gave her the opportunity to further her career in hollywood and without that she might not have had a chance. Too bad she has let herself go so much and doesn't seem to care. I would have dropped Kevin long ago-- he's not helping her image one bit!

Its only ok if the public lets it be ok. Take Mel Gibson, if he doesn't get another job in Hollywood and loses alot of his fan base, people don't go and see his movies, then maybe, celebrities would take note and become a little more responsible for there actions. The public as a whole has a short term memory and this will blow over and this will make him feel even more inferior than he was before. Which will enable him to be stupid more and more....

Well Naughty Angel. If you were a celebrity and did something stupid we might be writing about you now. Although I don't really care for Britney Spears, she is very talented an I' sure that she would be some what successful. But who knows.

Here's a list:
1. Paris Hilton (To quote Carlos Mencia, "Dee De Dee")
2. Jessica Simpson (Is Chicken of the Sea fish or chicken?)
3. Anna Nicole Smith (A couple of IQ points just right of having to wear a helmet - a fine example of what happens when cousins are allowed to mate)

I think that mickey mouse club was great. Good thing justin is not gay, right. Much love goes out to lance. anyway, celebrities dont have a life and sooner or later all those "lights, camera, actions get to you. i should know, being tom cruise is not easy. unless katie holmes is on your side. is she 18 yet? no wait im getting confused with kirsten dunst(she never gets old).

Honestly think about it. Celebrities make money because their fans choose to spend it. If no one spends on a celebrity, they get booted. So in a way, the people choose the celebrities. And people choose celebrities who are pleasing to the eye, no matter how stupid they may be. Plus, the celebrities can mask their stupidity until their fame overshadows it.

The whole point is that we as consumers still patronize the products (shows, albums, movies, etc) of these bad behavior types. If they saw that people intentionally did not buy their wares because of behavior, they would clean up their acts very fast.
But alas, as long as more people know who won American Idol than know who represents them in the House or Senate then we as a people need to examine our priorities as well.

Celebrities are Blessed by the money and people's love and attention
but Cursed by the fact that everything they do is watched and talked about by million of ppl. everybody act stupid from time to time but only celebrities are talked about and blamed for it for years to come.
so celebrities should stop complain about Paparazzi and People should stop complaining about celebrities being lucky.
Plus if you have that amount of money and fame you'd act stupid all the time cuz you don't give a f*** anymore

The reason they are often so jaw-droppiingly stupid is simple.
When you select a given group for appearance, you are NOT looking for brains. You're likely to come up with a bunch of good-looking dimwits & ninnies.
Further, even though we feel jealousy or at least envy for their extravagant lives... at least we are bright enough not to drive naked down Rodeo Drive while high on painkillers!

They really don't get off that easy, they get to act stupid and getting made fun of and we all get to feel better about ourselves because our life isn't a public display. Sure they get paid too much, but it's a good service they provide those celebrity a$$*&%@$.
