the dimmer switch I think is bad on my truck, here the thing. when I tilt my steering wheel all the up the low beam on the passenger side comes on but not on the driver side, and of course when I click the switch neither will come on. so should I replace the whole switch or just what controls the dim lights. and yes I changed the bulbs and that was not the problem.

Yep, you've probably got a bad turn signal switch. It requires pulling the steering wheel, and replacing the turn signal "stalk" it has several wires and a plug on the ind. It feeds through the steering column and plugs in at the bottom of the steering column. You probably should take it to a mechanic. I would recommend either the dealer or a shop that specializes in auto electrical. A good mechanic should be able to do the job in around 30 minutes.

Here is a photo of the Dimmer / Multi-Function Switch for the '95 Yukon with tilt wheel: http://www.rockauto.com/ref/ACDelco/Detail.html?D826A.jpg

It is next to impossible to repair these switches. A new switch costs about $205.
