Well with Sony starting out with such an unrealistic asking price for the unit they are driving their potential buyers into the arms of their competition. They are also going to charge more for the games. I suppose they figure if you could afford the system you could afford the games for the system too. I think Sony's being totally arrogant and ignorant in believing that the PS3 is going to actually sell like they think it will.

That depends on wether people will forgive them for once again pulling a sony. you know; the way they always promise all these things in there new console then slowly pull out or never implement them at all. does any one remember the hard drive that supported like three games? Dont even get me started about all the crap they have pulled from the PS3 already since it debuted at last years E3. Ask anyone who saw this years E3 game demo's, they look like $#!?. last year they sped them up so they would look as good as the XENON . im sick of there crap & i wont ever give them another dime . I'm all xbox now. Ithink they know there shanked and the price point is to suck all they can out of there fan boys to lessen the financial whack they're going to take on this so they can abandon it in a couple of years to give gamers what they promised in the first place.

There's the huge price, same old DualShock controller, unoriginal games that are mostly sequels, and saying that it won't be for the average household, the PS3 will probably make Sony loose more money than it's already loosing because of the PS3 launch, and maybe put out SCE.

maybe, but ps3 has 5x better graphics than xbox 360 and there is nothing better then that. If you want a ps3 buy one for 550$ or less on ebay, i got a gamecube for fifty bucks and 4 controllers for $40-$50 bucks on ebay.

My theory that i stiole from my friend is that when the WII comes out after the PS3 it will lower the price of the PS3 but i have no idea...it looks awesome and i already have enough for one.

Not a chance. The name alone guarantees success. The price probably will be ridiculous, but people will pay for performance, and they haven't let us down yet. My question is: how long til game systems for homes are Virtual Reality?

Sony has will lose alot, the Cell Processors they use for the system has a high malfunction rate so go ahead and buy one for 600 bucks then smile when it breaks,

Not when the 360 is that much.
But PS3 doesn't have Halo 3.

all the systems start out at like 500+ dollars just wait a few months and heck look at PS2 down to like 100 bucks -they all drop in price over time
