I have bought three cordless weedeaters (including a B&D a couple of years ago) and have found them all lacking in battery life. They are very handy, but even the 24 volt batteries run down quickly. Twenty minutes is about all you will get out of a full charge. If you only have a small amount of weedeating to do, a cordless may be OK. Anything substantial, and you won't have the time to finish the job. Recharging time for all of the units I have owned has been at least 12 hours.

Good luck with your gardening and lawncare.
