Some people just do whatever to keep their position. Do anyone really think of building a great company instead of the personal benefit right in front of them?

It has to do with leadership.

What examples are being set by the boss.

Does he/she listen to tattletales. If yes, then the whole company is doomed.

If on the other hand the boss has the guts to say..don't come in here telling bad things about your peers, they dont do that to you and I value them for their higher moral integrity.

Depends on the boss.

I think the higher someone gets within the organization, the more office politics come into play. I am sort of experiencing that situation. I agree with my organization's mission, though, so it's not like I have to go against what I stand for to keep my job, but it seems a lot of people are interested in tearing the others down.

You can want to build a company that is based upon personal benefit...but in the end, you can't make people care about other people.
