Hi guys! A couple days ago I was taking a shower and seemed to have gotten some water in my ear. I tried getting it out quickly but had no sucess, and I had to leave. A few hours later I had returned and used q-tips to absorb what water I could, and I did! Unfortunately, that didn't bring back my hearing!! I can only assume the water mixed with wax and created a block? I've tried using listerine to clear it up q-tips but nothing has worked and I can't hear a thing out of my right ear! Any help would be appreciated! My ear has been blocked for about 2 days now! Thanks!

you might try doing this ......

cup the heel & palm of your hand over the ear
with water, then firmily press in & out keeping
hand sealed as much as possible ........ this will create enuff pressure (similar to a plunger)
if you feel air flow "unblock" your ear, just tilt head
to side and allow to drain.

If this still doesn't help I would suggest buying an ear cleaning kit at drugstore. they contain ear drops, along with a rubber bulb that will blow
air into ear canal, which should work to release
water & wax so you can hear normal again.

hope this helps, good luck

You can get some water out stuff to put in your ear at the drug store (ask the pharmacist). Or you can just use rubbing alcohol. It does the same thing, which is dry up water. I have used both immediately after swimming. I would be concerned however, that your condition has lasted 2 days. These homemade remedies might get the water out but not cure any infection you may have developed. It might be time to go to the doctor. Good luck.

By the sounds of it you have a build up of wax, to clear this you have three options, either go to the chemist and buy some Earex drops & cotton wool, make an appointment at the doctors to get your ears shringed or also from chemist buy a medicine shringer what you use for babys & fill this with luke warm water, whilst holding your ear over the sink , push the water out of the shringe in fast and the warm water will clear out the wax. This is excatley what the doctor does. I have suffered with build up of wax for roughly 30yrs now , i used to go to the doctors regularly, but now i do it myself with the medicine syringe, it clears the problem and i have never suffered no pain (the doctors does the same, only with a much bigger syringe)

you can go to your local drug store (cvs, riteaid etc) buy some stuff called aurodry, it will be about $6 but that will completely dry out any moisture in your ear. only use a small amount, when you use it you may feel a burning sensation for a few seconds, that will be the alcohol in the product drying up the moisture. I get water in my ears all the time, this stuff really does the trick! best of luck!

I would just call your doctor for an appointment and have him flush your ear. Sometimes the water gets in the ear canal and can't get out. If you leave it in there you will have hearing loss and possible infection over time and then you will need a flushing plus antibiotic. My husband has this problem because he is a swimmer and just had his ears done this week infact. Good Luck!

Use half white vinegar with half rubbing alcohol. Place a few drops in each ear. Let it stay in your ears for about 5 min If no luck, call your doc.

get peroxide, and put a drop or two in your ear, then let it sit for about 20 seconds.. then tilt your head so it drips out..
i wish i could show you what i do, its hard to explain..
tilt your whole head forward, like, bend over, then tilt your head to the right, and move it around. shake your head to the left and right a lot real quick. then bend backwards and tilt to your right. and do the shaking thing again.jump up and down if you have to. if that all doesn't work, then just tilt your head to your right, shake it and jump up and down... you'll look stupid, but that method has actually worked for me before. hope it works, i know how frustrating it is to have water in your ear..
