When will Sony realize a game machine is...a GAME machine?

Dude, it didn't cost Sony much, just the movie studio.

Some studios still produce them but I did see it coming, the price was too high and never went down. You cannot charge MORE for a UMD than a DVD, its lower quality and fewer features.

Here in the UK Ghostbusters 1 and 2 on DVD is £4, on UMD Ghostbusters 1 is £15.

Fantastic 4, DVD £12, UMD £25

Way to expensive.

But sony havnt abandoned movies, they know movies on the PSP are huge, but not on high priced UMD's. They now sell memory sticks with movies included on the disk and may offer them for download.

I have many movies in PSP format, I just rent the DVD, rip it and convert to PSP in a few simple mouse clicks.

Its UMD but I saw it not to many people will buy the PSP for the movies when the cost for portible DVD players are as low as they are now, and who wants to buy movies twice.

Totally saw that coming. God, Sony are be retards! Let's just hope Blu-ray can do a tad better than UMDs and Beta-MAX!

Yes for the price of a UMD you can buy a DVD. Then you can burn and put on your psp any way.
