I think that dating anyone that you don't already know on a personal level isn't a very intelligent thing to do. First of all, no matter how well you think you know the person that you have been chatting with online, you can never tell exactly what you're getting yourself into. Your conversations and occasional picture shares alone are not enough to determine who a person really is. A very important part of any person that you are getting into a relationship with is their attitude, and the way that they carry themselves. It's a little difficult to tell that about a person over the Internet. Have you ever heard the saying that only 10 percent of what you are saying is actually coming out of your mouth? And furthermore, even though a person seems nice, and kind, and generally "your type" on the computer, it does not mean that is who they really are. You can be anyone you want on the computer- do you honestly think that they are going to tell you the whole truth about themselves? Stalkers, murderers, and rapists know this. And they can trick you into believing that they are something that they are not. I seriously advise against online dating. But if you do choose to date someone you met over the Internet- please make sure they have had a thorough back round check.

I'm in a very stable and satisfying marriage, and I'm happier now than I have ever been in my life. My relationship with my husband started by online dating. One year ago, I was in Texas and he was in Canada. Today, I'm in Canada and we were married less than a month ago.

Yes, there are horror stories to online dating, just as there are horror stories to traditional dating. But there are a lot of success stories.

There is actually a great advantage from cyberdating than traditional dating. You talk more and find out a lot more and in a lot more detail what you have in common. You don't have the physical aspect of the relationship to distract you. In traditional dating, many people do get physical without bothering to get to know each other.

You got to weigh the two, of course and you have to find out as much as possible about your potential mate no matter what setting you're in. But don't toss online dating offhand, because there are just as much (if not more) successful stories, than unsuccessful ones.

I highly recommend it.

Not stupid at all as long as people are being real. And of course, being careful. Great resource for people who are very limited on time and those who don't want to meet people in the bar or have friends fix them up with random people. Gives you a chance to get to know people before actually meeting and weed out the creeps.

Yes. I think that if you truly love someone you will find them. You shouldn't have to go looking. Also, online dating can be very dangerous. It's not always good to trust a person you have never actually met.

Yes you have to be so carefull with who you hook up with but as scary as it may be and as desperate an action as it may seem, alot of people have actually found their true loves this way... Yaaaaaaaayyyy for them but I still say I might as well invite a homicidal killer right over to my placed than gamble with online traggadies
