Well, it has a lot of violence (but it is only directed at killing monsters), has some references to sex, and deals with witchcraft, magic, demons, vampires, etc. But, on the other hand, there isn't really any drug use and very little if any profanity. It does teach some good lessons and deals with the struggles young people face in the world.

I would say it depends on the age of your kids. If they are teenagers, or at least mature pre-teens, I think it would be okay for them. I watched Buffy when I was in junior high/high school and turned out just fine!

I should think you'd be the only one who could answer that. How old are your kids? Do they frighten easily? (Not that Buffy is all that frightening, but there are some pretty intense scenes.) Do you ever talk to them about what they watch, or do you just plant them in front of the set and walk away?

Buffy is well written with interesting characters and an engaging story line. It also deals with occult themes, monsters, and a girl whose major task in life is to kill things. Personally, I think it's a great show, but whether it's bad for your kids is your call to make.

Actually it is an entertaining show that the who family can watch, but be forewarned, if your kids are too young. I would say 10 and up, maybe even as young as nine years old. The who have scary images of monsters and vampires. Also they can safely watch the first two season and then things get complicated, about relationships (lesbian and the likes) and family tragedy. So start off with the first season because it is the most fan and family friendly.

You left out one very important item . . . how old are your kids? If they are 5-10, then yes, Buffy's probably not the kind of TV they should be watching. Older than that though should be ok, but you should watch it together so you can explain that it's fiction and answer any questions that they might have.

no but if they start acting like Buffy and take it to an extreme like trying to do her stunts or trying to "slay" their friends then they need to get out and play in the sunshine some kids have problems telling the difference between reality and fantasy so maybe you need to think about how your kids handle the interpretation of those type of shows

It's a judgment call by the parent; although, there is romance & action adventure the show focused on a lot of life leasons that kids go through everyday. It's up to the parent.

I have watched it since I was 9 and I have never found it to cause me any problems. There are some small graphic scenes but nothing awful. If they are small kids it might cause a bit of a problem because little ones get scared fairly easy.

Well I would have to say no because I watched it when it still came out. But they could get nightmares if they are too young. If they are like 8yrs old then that is fine. You should let them try out the movie first and see how that goes. Then you can decide if it is ok for them.

I don't think there is anything bad in it.

The question is whether it is age-appropriate, and the answer probably is that it depends how old your children are.

If they are pre-teens, they probably aren't quite ready for the violence, the bit of sexual innuendo/content, and perhaps the whole demon/vampire portrayal thing.

If your kids start sharpening stakes and wear garlic as necklaces.

Be a parent and rightfully advise them that it's just TV and they should not imitate it.

Or just turn off the TV and spend more real quality time with them.

Peace.
