I think you mean dependant, not addicted.
Anyway, see a Doctor to see if you can do anything about your troubles. I'm not sure that your problem is all too uncommon.

regrettably this could be a common subject. over the counter nostril sprays like Afrin and Neo-Synephrine reason what's called "rebound" congestion in case you utilize it for extra desirable than 3-5 days. I propose you pass on your healthcare expert. There are different issues that would help with congestion...saline nasal washes and drugs (steroid nasal sprays) which will help your congestion with out inflicting the rebound congestion. You gotta wait and notice, however, with the aid of fact those sprays do no longer artwork top away. It takes a week or so for them to start working and you gotta use them on a daily basis. I, too, had this subject with Afrin. yet you may get off of it. it will be troublesome before each little thing, yet once you could difficult out the 1st week, you would be ok.

when I was a pharmacy tech, we had a customer who was going through the same problem - had used OTC nasal sprays for YEARS. The doc started by putting him on prescription nasal sprays (that work in a different way and reduce inflammation) and then gradually weened him off those. Using the OTC nasal sprays on a regular basis is not only bad for your sinuses, but can affect your body systemically as well (they contrict blood vessels which can cause problems with blood pressure and even your heart in the long run).
Talk to you doc about it...he'll be able to hopefully get you on a regimen that will help you quit.

Just stop doing it and call a doctor. Those sprays cause rebound sinus problems. You're probably going to be a bit miserable for a few days. Your sinuses need time to get that junk out of your system, regroup and recover. Try using a saline nasal spray (like "Ocean") instead. Good luck!

You're just going to have to quit. It's not an addiction like a high, as you know, but nose spray constricts the tissues in your nose, making you feel like it's stuffed up when it wears off, making you think you need it to breathe. You will just feel like you have a stuffy nose for a few days.

I know someone who was. You must get off of it. It can even cause you heart problems. Try prescriptions like Flonase if you must have any, or anything else similar. But stay away from Afrin or those you should only be using for 7 days.
Or, try simple saline. Keep your nose hydrated. You can try the Breathe-Right strips at night also. Or allergy pills may help (prescription ones are better).

I thought with nose sprays the more you use them the worse your nasal problems will get.
