We did the elopment. It was just so much easier. We went to Gatliberg Tennessee and spent the weekend. You can get your marriage liscense on a Saturday and they are plenty of wedding chapels just as there are in las vegas. We went in Feb which is off season. We hit every tourist attraction and ate out for all meals and we spent under 500 dollars. We stayed at the rainbow motel (40 bucks a night) married at the victorian gardens wedding chapel (50 bucks) had our pictures taken at the ceremony (85 bucks) and went to ripleys aquarium and the Ripley's musuem and Ripleys believe it or not attractions. We also had our reception dinner at Hard Rock Cafe where we met a least a dozen other couples that were there for the same reasons. Plus...there are a lot of time share places in Gatlinburg that want your time, we made 85 dollars cash for going to listen to a 60 minute talk about time share and we didnt have to buy. You get the money upfront a a wonderful buffet of food. So we made a good amount of money.

I eloped the first time. Highly unsatisfactory.
The second time, I had a small wedding and it was much nicer. I also decided to have fun. I wore a modified royal purple prom gown and made my own matching veil. I wore silver-colored shoes with it and had a buffet reception. The cake was small, but beautiful.
Big weddings are too much trouble! (and take too long to plan) Why make the happiest day of your life so complicated when you can go simple and enjoy it?!?

Small outside wedding. But I'd settle for eloping.

A very small wedding or elopement. I don't want the hassle of a large one...the stress that everyone brings and creates, the expense...all of that!

Huge enormous wedding in spring with blossom petals falling all around and the wedding in a huge castle and lots of knights on horses and me on a horse and the bride comes in a Cinderella carriage and the theme music is the music from EXCALIBUR where Arthur marries Guenevere. And there will be all the most decadently expensive foods in the world there at the reception. And we leave for the honeymoon in an enormous black stretch limo carriage pulled by 8 solid black American Bison(buffalo).

If I had to do it all over again, I would go for a simple wedding. Way too much planning, a lot of hassles on the plans, and you start to focus more on the big day rather than what will happen after the big day.
