I don't quite get why we care so much what celebrities political opinions are, either. If I were a fan, it would take a lot more to scare me off than a few anti-Bush statements. My opinion of an artist or a group might be dropped a notch, but not enough for me to vow never to buy from them again. Unless I was holding two CDs in my hand with only enough money to buy one. Then, I'd likely think of the artist's viewpoints as a tie-breaker.
But I don't have problems with those who have sworn off the Dixie Chicks forever. If their statements spoil it all for them, that's their opinion.
The entertainment has worked so hard to sell its artist, not only based on performance, but on image, too. If an artist's image changes, that will naturally change they're popularity.
And if people choose not to buy thier music or go to thier movies, that is thier right. No one's freedom of speech is being violated.

First of all, do you forgive people you know? Second, are you so perfect that anyone should give a hoot whether you forgive or not?
And third, just because these people make a living entertaining you, should they really give a s**t whether you forgive them or not?
I know I wouldn't....
And as the saying goes, let him who has no sin throw the first stone. I know I wouldn't see any stones thrown under these conditions.
But then you already answered that in your question and I agree.

Yes, eventually we should forgive them - but in the meantime, they should be criticised because:
a) they are paid mega bucks to be role-models. Why should we care about what sneakers they endorse if we don't care about how they behave.
b) all celebrities love publicity - there is no such thing as bad publicity. Their only fear is if the tabloids stop talking about them.

yes but because of their position and influence they should bare more responsibility for their actions also ... i see it as they should really be careful because more people see their mistakes than an average persons' so, forgive?, yes .. forget?, harder than a normal person to be forgotten on an issue ... it will tarnish their image for life.

Yeah just cos they are famous it doens't mean they don't have feelings and make mistakes i think everyone should forgive everyone regardless of who you are, unless its unforgivable. but i suppose they are supposed to be role models and some people think if its alright for them to do it then they can too.
Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.

yes I believe we should. Famous people are just like any other person and everyone should forgive and not hold a grudge on someone forever.

I don't understand why people are so interested in the lives of celebrities that they even care that much! I do believe that we should forgive others....just as God forgave us.

sounds like a honest accord, exceedingly if forgiven errors are the treasure of the terrific human wealth, and the main proper of organic consequences. God's thought of perfection, would I theorize, is to allow the errors to be in exactly the places the place if each little thing became to unexpectedly exchange, they could be our salvation and survival.
