even if i only kissed my boyfriend... ad he hasnt done anything with any other girls or anyone ..? is a cold sore a type of herpies ...? and will it go away?..how many people get it?... is it normal? sorry im asking all these questions

cold sores are caused by a type of herpes virus, yes. It is not the same as genital herpes---but you should definitely not engage in oral sex if you have a cold sore on your mouth.
Cold sores, and the type of herpes virus that causes them, are quite common. The virus lives in your body for years, perhaps your whole life. Under certain conditions (stress, illness, poor nutrition) a cold sore will appear. But even if you have no visible sores, you still have the virus living in your body.
Many, many people have it---don't feel like you are "diseased". The same family of viruses also causes Chicken Pox.
To treat your cold sores, get a good medication from a drug store---ask the pharmacist to recommend one for you. Many of the newer cold sore ointments contain an ingredient to help fight the virus as it dries up the sore.
Also, to avoid passing the virus to your boyfriend, you might want to avoid kissing until the sore goes away.

No! People can get cold sores all the time. I wouldn't worry. Cold sores are different than herpies. Yes overtime cold sores do go away. You may be able to find some sort of cream that will help with the soreness till then. Finally, tons of people get cold sores. They are normal and as long as you are careful with your boyfriend, and like you say have not done more than kissed, don't worry about it being herpies.

Yes it is herpes simplex it is oral herpes but contrary to what doctors will tell you it is not just caused by sexual activity it can be caused just by casual contact.Most of the time they go away in a couple of days with a cold sore cream.I do homeopathy which is a natural way to cure problems without side effects.Dr.'s will say it can't be cured but that is not true with homeopathy it can be.So don't worry it does not mean you got it from your boyfriend but it is contagious and it effects more than half of the population.

it is a type of herpes i think but not as serious as others....use those herpecin something like that its like chapstick but for cold sores....if ur bf is the one giving u cold sores i would recommend dumping the thing...it will go away...i had it one time and it never came back - we had this visitor at the house and she was brushing her teeth with everyone's toothbrush and i caught it, my mom and i gave it to my bf since she left none of us caugh it again..good luck
