Isn't this a bit on the dumb side?

Like The US? We blow up Iraq and spend billions on "reparing Iraq". I think It's pretty stupid.

To some countries, blowing others up is seen as part of a long term investment.
Find "dictator" or "terrorist" in a country rich in natural resources, blow it up and then repair it with you in the driving seat! That guarantees cheap raw materials to you and the coming generations.
The only problem is that the propaganda worked much better back in the day when people didn't have access to the kind of communication tech that we have today.

If I use throw my old knives at you, get the power of attorney over you as you lie in a coma, and use it to hire my own and my friends clinics to heal you what do I achieve?
1 I get rid of my old knives easily
2 You become afraid of me and will listen to me
3 My friends and I get $ from the treatment we are giving you.

It also helps if I can get as many of my 'people' benefiting from the effort by having them work in the clinics, whether it be doctors, nurses, or janitors. Another thing that would help is if I managed to show that you were a bad guy, may be you never donate $ to the poor, or you were a bully in pre-school. This ensure my people will support me, cheer me even, as I pound you.

It's a very simple system, and a smart one, not a dumb one.

As for whether it is terrorism, would you call me that while I am juggling with my knives?

The average people in the street would like together in perfect harmony. It's the politicians and power mongers who screw it up for everybody. They want extra power (read more money) or don't like the way somebody else runs their country (since when were the US appointed as the planet's police ?).

After they've wreck countries and destroyed thousands of lives, they appease the locals (I.e. the people who vote for them) by sending aid to the country they've just 'liberated'.

Essentially it's part of a very cynical game led in the main by the US govt and the large business interests who control it. they have mapped out the geo-political shape of the world that suits them best and they endeavor to use all the instruments available to them in order to achieve this. These are blunt instruments of course but the killings of innocent people in large numbers, or the kind of total chaos which we've seen in Afghanistan and Iraq doesn't worry them in the slightest.

Because other countries are f'ed up and want to fight over religion, they are light years behind the US as far as having an open mind, acceptance of change and realizing that we can live together and have different beliefs and do our own thing.

Once you figure out where the money goes in contracts you'll begin to see the pattern... then you will understand that war is a payday for big business interests without it they'll ho bankrupt....
