Ok so I'm about half way there and I think its a really good book and I'm really serious about getting published, I just dont know how and if its gonna cost alot of money.

OY vey, a lot of very clueless people on this site.
First, it doesnt cost money to get published. Publishers pay you. Its costs money to get your book PRINTED (IE, "vanity pubs" or "self-published".)
You also dont find agents in a phone book, honey. You use the writer's market, or you go to www.agentquery.com.
If this is really your first book, you have a lot of editing in front of you--- find a critique group via one of the yahoo groups, or through a professional organization, like www.rwanational.org (romance writers of america, if you wrote a romance /teen romance/chick lit-- the BEST society there is for writers).
Spend atleast a few months ripping it apart and putting it back together. Trust me, even if you think its perfect, someone else will see differently.
Eventually, try and get an agent. Study how to write a query letter, visit miss Snark (google her) or www.pubrants.blogspot.com, or even my agent: www.livejournal.com/users/agentobscura.
All are good resources for info. Then query till your heart's content, and try to land that agent.

I've gotta say.. yes. It is going to cost ALOT of money to get it published. What you need is to go online (like you are right now) and look up on a search engine on different book companies. Or use your phonebook and look for an agent. I'll warn you again though, it's really expensive.. but hey, if it's a good book, you'll make millions! They'll even make a movie out of it! :)

It only costs alot of money if you publish yourself. Finish the book polish it and start pitching it to agents.

Prepare for a lot of rejection.
Write a letter to as many publishers as possible. But expect only 1 to respond or sometimes none at all.
