You seem to be making a fair number of assumptions.

A) Not all women say that men are stupid. When we do, we aren't necessarily referring to academic competence.

B) Your definition of 'genius' seems a little narrow. One is a genius only if one graduates early from college and makes a lot of money?

C) Is it possible that the things that matter to women are different from the things that matter to men? So that a female genius would be working in fields that don't tend to garner major press?

D) I'm sensing a certain amount of bitterness here, but then I've always been 'sensitive' to overt hostility. Try this - when you hear a woman make the comment "men are stupid" or any variant of that, write it down. Give it a month and take a look at how many times you've written it. I suspect you'll find it happens a lot less often than you think it does.

Well, unless you make comments like this to the women in your life as a regular thing. In that case, I'd bet you hear "men are stupid" a lot more than most people.

because an I.Q. Test is based on the sigma, the average women is more intelligent then a male, it is much harder to achieve the genius level, on a female scale. Men do not have to score as high is what it comes down too. Just a female power lifter doesn't have to lift as much as a male to be a champ.

All though te dumb females will say they have been oppressed for 100's of years, not true, they were given a free ride for 100's of years. The lazy ones believe this.

Sure men are stupid, whenever a woman is around, just ask them.

What makes you think that fewer women are geniuses? I remember several studies when assigned to analyze the earnings differences between men and women. I didn't find stories like that, I'm sure that the argument would have made the difference all the more drastic. I think you are in very, very thin ice.

In my experience, I've known several extremely brilliant women. I used to hang around all the eggheads. You need to look around a little closer.

There are many brilliant and inspirational women who could be called "genius",

You have forgotten about the many many incredibly smart women who commit their lives to raising children, the boundaries and battles that so many women fought for equality, the fact that there is a gap because the women raising children - will in many cases not be working!!! This gap is closing, but its still there!
I do not think men are more stupid than woman = I do question the validity at all of your question though. If you do believe you are smarter than women - why ask such a question?
heres a random selection so you can increase that brain of your own with a sample of the many great woman the names of women who have made a difference, i could go on and on and on , but hopefully this should open your eyes to the fact that gender does not define how smart we can be.

Because women typically want a family and kids and men dont care about stuff like that, all they see is dollar signs! $$$

Back when women were really into science they didnt get appriciated for thier work because the Womens rights movement hadnt yet commenced.

And women are not necessarily smarter than men. I've noticed all the women who say they are smarter than men are really the women who are dumb as a box of rocks in the rain.

Dont take offense to it. You should know how women are.

(Unless you've never had one!... J/K!)

That because most of the time women are smart but men don't want them to be. Sexist is a very big thing. Men are still paid more in some places and women are still degraded in some places. Women say men are stupid most of the time as a joke. Besides, men are better then women at somethings and women are better then men at somethings. Its just a revolving door.

Because throughout history, men have stolen many of women's inventions and have kept women down. Did you know that DNA was discovered by a woman? Unfortunately, two of her male colleagues stole her work and claimed it as their own! Women weren't even allowed to vote in the US until the 1920's! We weren't allowed to attend college and even if we did, we were expected to raise children and be good obedient wives. Men have kept women down for a long time and now, 60% of women are in college, as opposed to only 40% of men! Men have kept women down for far too long and now women are struggling to gain their equal footing. That is why you don't see as hear of as many female geniuses. They are out there. They are just being kept down by the patriarchical society.

Because in a society that has been dominated by Males, not necessarily for good, the genius of the females has been overshadowed. Usually a male steps in and take the credit. however, you can't count our ladies like Madam Curie.

"Sex and intelligence research investigates differences in the distributions of cognitive skills between men and women. This research employs experimental tests of cognitive ability, which take a variety of forms, including written tests like the SAT. Research focuses on differences in individual skills as well as overall differences in general cognitive ability, which is often called g. IQ tests, which are specially designed to measure cognitive ability, usually test a variety of skills.

The population of men and women differ on average in how well they perform on some of these skill tests, but do equally well on other tests. For example, women tend to score higher on certain tests of memory, whereas men tend to score higher on tests of spatial reasoning. While these results are relatively uncontroversial, the question of whether men and women differ on average in g is a matter of debate among experts. Most studies unambiguously find that men as a population are more varied than women in g (i.e. there are more men than women at the extremes of ability).

However, determining whether men and women differ on average has been more difficult. The primary reason for expecting that men will have higher average g than women is the male advantage in brain size. Resolving this question requires the use of sophisticated statistical techniques to extract g from the results of IQ tests. Some studies find an average male advantage in g, but most do not." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_and_intelligence

Also, being able to measure the differences in IQ between men and women is difficult because IQ tests assume only a limited difference in the experiences of men men and women.

Your argument that there are more male geniuses than female geniuses can't be proven based on what we see in society. Otherwise, I would be able to claim that women are smarter than men because more females are validictorians than are males.

And last, your argument doesn't take into account that society expects different roles for men and women. Women don't have the same support that men have. They are discouraged (through lack of encouragement), and often times excluded, from areas of society that men aren't, including areas that you consider to be a signs of a genius. Don't you remember the Barbi doll that said, "Math is hard?" Did you ever get one of those? Barbi may just be one example, but there are many more. Society still expects men to become the bread winners for the family and women to become the supporting wives and caring mothers, and that's how each sex is treated from birth.

Real reason? Because women don't feel the need to toot their own horns like men do. It's not a big old contest for women. We know when we're right, we know when we're wrong, we know when we're smart, and we certainly know when men are being stupid. Just because you don't see "famous" smart women, doesn't mean we're not out there. C'mon, look at Asia Carrerra, she's a member of MENSA and used to be a porn star.
