It was curiousity--when people are posting something online for millions to see and they put 'do not click here', they know that people will click/see it, because they are curious to why someone would post something that says that, but when they are saying that they dont want anyone to see it, it can really be just an easier way to get someones attention if you really want them to click it.........anyways, that sounds soo confusing..but yes,,,reverse psychology + curiousity are your answers :-).

Which is more intriguing: "Open that box" or "Do Not, under any circumstances, even if your very life depends on it, open that box"? If people want you to find out, all the suspense is gone.
We're just so darn curious. And skeptical. Makes for a thought process that goes something like this:
"Now, why would he not want me to click there? Is it some dirty, nasty secret in that link? He's probably just messing with the masses. I'd be a fool to click there, especially since it says 'DON"T CLICK'. Hmm. Maybe it IS something incredibly fascinating. I'd better click, just to make sure..."
Now, if you REALLY don't want to click something, go to this website:
www.dontclick.it

i guess it is just that wondering what someone is trying to "hide" from me that drives me to want to know so bad. plus obviously you wanted me to click here, i think. anyways, thanks for the 12 points! JK, JK. 2 points. but i wouldn't mind 12;)
