Some of that depends on how you like to study. You may want index cards +/or post it notes. Beyond that, its your basic office supplies. Folders, notebooks, paper clips, stapler... A small filing cabinet or a cabinet with at least one drawer that you can put hanging files in would probably be helpful. You'll need a bookcase. Basically, just think about what it'll take for you to be able to keep track of your stuff, which is much harder in college than high school. Think computer supplies too. Disks, cds... I can't live without my jump drive anymore. Good backpack, definitely.

There will be other things that will be specific to your classes, but they'll tell you about those and many of them will be available in the bookstore.

Bedding: Extra-long twin sheets, blanket, comforter, pillow
Bath: At least 2 towels, and a shower caddy (check-out Target or Bed Bath and Beyond)
Computer!!!!!!!! laptop or PC with MIcrosoft Office
A desk lamp, whatever office supplies you like such as lots of highlighters
Some things to make your dorm personal like posters, photos, a stereo. Don't worry, you will accumulate lots of things to "define your dorm" as you go through the semesters.
Oh yeah...you might want a listing of all the local late-night diners and coffee shops for those cramming sessions. Good luck and have fun! =)

a pencil, a pen, a fat notebook, a folder. In some classes you may have to provide the scantrons (the bubble sheets for the tests) unless you are an art students...then you get to bring all fo the fun stuff

Will depend on what your college provides. But here's a few things you'll want to consider: Small fridge, microwave, laptop/desktop, bedding, towels/wash clothes, dishes/utensils, TV, vcr, microwavable dishes, quarters for laundry, laundry bag/basket/detergent, futon...

If possible check with any room mates and see what they are bringing so as not to have duplicates.
