Nashville, San Jose, Dallas, Detroit, LA, the next four will be Colorado, Vancouver, Anaheim and ?? maybe Columbus, Calgary, Edmonton or Minnesota fighting it out for the last spot. Phoenix is close but a year or two away from the playoffs. Anaheim could go to the cup as a dark horse. Never count out the Detroit , they just signed Hasek and that will help

Vancouver..will go far....Bertuzzi will be missed...but he is only 1 player...22 make a team. At long last they have a bon afide Goalie

Look at the number Luongo but up with a sub par team in front of him in Flordia....Luongo has a serioius shot at the Vezina this year. That will be between Kipper in Calgary & Luongo in Vancouver.

Vancouver Lost Jovo Cop...But The are bring p that # 10 draft pick from Moncton... Luc Budroun ...all the scouts agree he will be an amazing d man...he got skill & Size and a better shot for the point that Jovo...He speed his far superior as well...If he gels with the team he could be a serious contender for the Calder or Norris. Look for Vancouver to change it's style ...more defence than offence . On paper Vancouver has improved as a team..they only lost 2 key players...the eason will all rest on the Coach...what type of system he runs. Luango will have a great year in Vancouver.

The season will be one thing...but come Playoff time...it's all about who's in net....Look at Edmonton ( Rolason) last year...and Ward in Carolina....you ride the goalie ...Neither team where offenceive powerhouses....they has how many 3-2 games in the final....Iti is all about the netminder...Luango in Vancouver...with a way better D in front of him.....Look out western conference.

Colordao is in tatters....they have lost to much beacuse of the Cap.

Calgary is the most improved team in the NHL

Look for Calgary/Vancouver in the western final

Who ever wins that ....wins the CUP

Buffalo/Ottawa in the east final

Anaheim has a shot---I like Calgary and Vancouver may finally have it together.

Buffalo will have a hard time dominating the west as they are an eastern team.:) Plus, if you look at the schedule they don't travel west at all this season!

Bettman needs to fix the scheduling, all teams should play one another at least once. There are a few teams Buffalo doesn't even see this year.

Vancouver now has a goalie, but lost Bertuzzi. Add to the mix a new coach.
Colorado lost Blake and Tanguay.
Detroit still has goaltending issues, even with Hasek, and add the loss of THE CAPTAIN and Shanny...
Calgary has a great goalie, and added Tanguay to help Iginla.
San Jose's youth is better, as is their goalie.
Dallas got as far as they did last year due to the OT Penaltyshot rules. Dont expect them to be as lucky this year.
Phoenix is still looking for their mix of veterans and youth to gel..
LA added Blake, and a whole season with their coahc might help.

I'd say Calgary and San Jose. Dont see a lot of downsides on either team there.

Detroit - with the Dominator NOT be on top? I'm not sure I can agree with that. I think San Jose has a shot if their goalies stay hot. Nashville may also be a surprise if the chemistry continues to click.

well last year it was Edmonton that made the finals and the Flames made it the year before that so maybe it will be the Canucks that will make the finals this season.

this is for the people that put eastern teams in instead of western teams, Carolina, Buffalo, NY Ranger, Ottawa are in the east read before you answer a question.
