What's wrong with them sitting on Mars?

I think humans will sit on Mars.

They might even lay down and sleep after an exciting day of exploring.

Of course,it has already been done however they still only tell you what they want to tell you! They put the sattlite up there that took pictures to show the proof that water had existed and the air was breathable! In the neaar distant future we will be able to fly there and start building on it to destroy it the way the earth has been done!Just imagine what will happen once they start sending people to other planets!! They have not said anything about MARTIANS on mars yet but being that there was life?? Where did they go??? And why do they sstill say ufos here aare from mars??We know one tiny iota of what our government wants us to know!!! I remember seeing the jetsons when I was a kid back in the 60's &70's and they were showing holograms so you know our government is wayyyy past the little things! It would blow your mind with all of the knowledge that is out there about other planets, aliens,Ufos etc!! Area 51 was a true story but over the years they still have TONS of subsided info in that!! So we are just small creatures in a game and we could be like an antfarm to some kind of alien!!OOOOHHHHH!! Seriosly, the government hides more from us than you could ever know but it's probably better that way so we don't go insane!I hope I have helped answer your question!!Have a good day!

maybe... but probably not for along time and even then its probably not going to happen because i seriously doubt the human race will be here in 100-200 years+ the planet would have to be terraformed first otherwise everyone would just die of radiation from space because mars has a thin atmosphere and for an entire planet like mars to be terroformed there would have to be a good reason behind it other than exploration, maybe when the people of this planet start to destroy themselves...

its easily do-able with technology we have now. Two space shuttles could be attached to an oversized fuel tank also containing provisions. The main section would have to be asembled in orbit. One of the shuttles would detatch once in orbit around Mars and land like a conventional aircraft with the help of balloon tyres and parachutes. return to orbit would be acheived by either two wing mounted SRB's or a beefed up old saturn 5 lunar lander in the cargo bay. during the year long journey the ship can be spun in a corkscrew rolling motion to create gravity. personally I'd go, even If I knew I wouldnt make it back.

If you mean for living, I dont think so.
We dont even know about the deep sea floors! And, furthermore, how could we make Mars liveable? Spending loads and loads of money in it? Maybe, but I dont think that it will be ever worth the price versus the number of people they can make to live in there.

Possibly. I think it would take a dramatic change in the mindset of humans to bring it about, though.

Too many resources are allocated toward wasteful things and our eyes are driven toward the earth for all its war and conflict and away from the heavens.

People will begin looking toward the sky again when they start to feel safe about where they're already walking.

I believe space travel will be as common as going from Iraq to the USA. They believed at one time the earth was flat and you would fall off.
then due to the long distance we would never go to any other clestial body. Yet we do.
the bible even says did I create the heavens simply for nothing.
One day when we clean up our act down here. We will go to other planets. Maybe make whole new worlds.

Yes, eventually, when we're ready, we need to fix things here first...
We need to create better inventions, that would allow us to explore deeper in space, at a faster rate, right now, it takes way to long to get to mars, for a human to be flown there, without suffering gravitation sickness (liver and other organ failure)

Of course we will. Please read the book "The Case for Mars" by Robert Zubrin, PhD for an in depth nuts and bolts engineering discussion on just this topic, available from Amazon and many local book stores.

If we can think it up, we will do it, so yes. Philip K. Dick wrote an interesting novel about what settling Mars will be like called 'Martian Time-Slip' -- it's all about water, local leadership, real estate speculation, politics and madness.

sure,

but the worse thing for advancing our knowledge of space is sending people out there.

There is no need to send people, they make the whole project a lot more expensive and bigger.

Read "space" by James A Michener

a facinating read about the space race and the political interference that has slowed us down so much.
