No, and depending on where you get the pic, there shouldn't be any viruses attached, scan it. The thing that slows your computer down is the shadows under mouse, menu's. And Lot's of various colors too...

Depends. A 50K JPG, probably no big deal. A 75 megabyte TIFF - big deal.
