i read somewhere that you should avoid tap water when you are pregnant.... is that true

so this is stupid.... but i thought tap water was purified water is it not or is it the water that comes right out of the facet?

Not at all. As long as your water is safe, you are all fine to drink away. If it wasn't safe, trust me, you'd hear about it.

My Doctor didn't want me drinking the tap water that was in our city. Some towns do have "bad water". There have been traces of chemicals found that they use for purification. I would talk to your Doctor and find out what he thinks about the water in your area. If he doesn't approve of ask him what is better the Brita or bottled. Good luck!

ive never been pregnant before, however, i know about tap water. In tap water there is chemicals such as chlorine. that can be unhealthy for the baby. Also there is the Floride factor. Floride is a chemical that is added to the water, why i dont know, but, it can greatly increase the chances of getting alzheimers (spelling). You will also see it in toothpaste, but it is added to the toothpaste to prevent cavities, but thats why you spit toothpaste out in the sink

I avoid tap water even though I am not pregnant. Have a healthy pregnancy!

If you have drank it all this time then it is fine, I have always drank what ever is given to me and how do you know that the bottle water you drink isn't out of some tap anyway!!!!!

I read the same thing. There are alot of chemicals in tap water that are unsafe for you, let alone your baby.

I've never heard that, but I have heard that bottled water can harbor bacteria. If you are worried about it you can get a brita filter.

i have never heard of this. however, its not a bad idea to have your water tested.
