If you are not American, what do you wish others (like Americans) appreciated about you? I mean REALLY--not just what you think someone else wants to here. Give it to me straight.

If you are an American, what do you wish other Americans appreciated about your part of the country.

I am fascinated by other people and other cultures, but I want to understand the deep part of the culture. It's hard to find that stuff.

I am from canada and I really like how beautiful and clean it is. I love the changing seasons the smell of the air. I like the diversity we have in our country and the fact that some provinces are bilingual to accomodate everyone. I like how I can be anywhere in my country and find a kind person - people still say hello to you when you pass them on the street. When you offer a smile others will return it here. I like our freedom I love our medical system. We have good schools and low crime rates - in most places. I like that my children can be safe in our neighborhood and I know they will have opportunities to have great lives. Go to great schools and have jobs. I like that we are such a large country in regards to land size and the fact that there aren't enough people to fill it. I like that we are open to accepting people from other countries to live in our towns and cities. I like that we give those people hope and opportunity when they come to live here and dual citizenship. I like that because of this my children are growing up color blind. I love that I can be who I want and join the groups I want wear the clothes I want go to the churches I want and have the confindence that I will not be persecuted for my decisions. Most of all though I love that this country is my country. EH? :)

Virginia here. Anywher in the beautiful state you can be at: the mountains, the coutry , Washington DC or other major cities (museums) or the beach, all within a half days' drive.

I love my country, not because we a superpower, but because we help everyone else in need. Our fore-fathers fought to rid us from the Bitish Rule in 1776 and make a country of their own. And nobody really ever gets this, but: they were hours away from defeat. If we would have lost, what would America be like now? In every war, we send our children out to ask them to do the ultimate, and they do it. They carry those weapons for us, and they die, all for us. We have widowed spouses and parentless children for thier sacrifices. They stand on that post, and they guard us every minute of everday, and ask for nothing more than below average wages to do so.

We have the outspoken many whao have the empowerment to resist these conflicts through staged protests, rallies and EVERYDAY verbal jestures. But God help those boys and girls at war for us, because it's their lives, taht gace those asshole protesters the right to do what they do.

I have a photograph of my brother coming home from the war un Vietnam at National Airport in DC when I was 10. There was egg smeared on his Marine Corps uniform. My mother cried, and it was the first and only time I ever saw my father shed a tear.

My brother told them both, that, "It's ok guys, they have the right to do that"

We owe our lives to those serving for this country but seldom do we show it. It hasn't been their wars, you know that, it's the politicans. Blame them, not those giving their limb and life.

That's it for me, I love this country, others are envious of us, we have stronghold and a powerful presence amoung our other nations. But there's been a price to pay for all of it.

God Bless America....................

Im from Sydney Australia and I would say that most americans appreciate Australians.. not only because we are nice, kind laid back people, but because we stand by our friends! As we all know, Australia is standing side by side America in the war on terrorism, as have they with every other war!
So I dont really have anything that I would like appreciated more!

I live in New Jersey - USA, and I agree with Jade, Aussies and Americans have been side by side with everything. I would, unfortunately, never visit Australia because of this eposide "Worlds Most Dangerous Spiders" and they were mainly in Australia.. No thanks.
What I like about America is that we all stand together when it's needed. What I don't like is that it takes a major tragedy to make it happen.
