If a couple gets married in Vegas (yea one of those quickie elvis- chapel ones, legal as heck)and one of the parties is going through a divorce in another state, is the LV marriage still legal when the divorce goes through? No, this isn't me...and not one of my relatives either...

no, the LV wedding is not valid if one party was still married at the time of the wedding.

The person who got married is now a guilty of a crime of having two wifes and could be arrested if someone turned him in. His new LV wife will have no rights at all as a wife does.

he will have to get remarried to the LV wife as soon as the divorce is final.

No, one cannot be legally married in anywhere if there is a legal marriage still on the books. Even once the divorce is final, the second marriage would still be null and void because it was performed while the first marriage was still legal. Bigamy I think is the term, but I could be wrong and have it spelled wrong as well, but the gist is still the same. You can't marry someone while you're married to someone else, divorce in progress or not.

Nope. In fact the person already married has committed the crime of bigomy and can go to jail. The Vegas marriage will not be legally recognized either.

No. A married person can not be married to someone else, it's called bigamy and it's a felony in all states.
