Why do so many girls obsess over him? I mean, I can understand they might find him good looking (though I don't understand why girls find guys good looking) but is he really that great?

there is alot more to Johnny Depp than his everso goodlooking looks. He is a talented actor who has taken parts in movies and made the character what he wanted in a way few others can. He isn't the hollywood go getter he is all about his family (kids and gf) that makes him even more attractive to us girls,ladies.

Whether he's good looking or not is one thing, whether he's a good actor or not is quite another. Even the best actors have been in some terrible movies, it's impossible to avoid if you've been working long enough! Anyway, he is a good actor, and here is the proof. The Libertine, What's eating Gilbert Grape (includes Leonardo Di Caprio's best performance) for serious stuff. More light hearted stuff ... Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Ed Wood, Edward Scissorhands.

It's not necessarily about Johnny Depp being hot, it's just that he plays non traditional roles that other actors wouldn't play and he's great at doing so. Yes he's cute, but being a good actor goes along with it.

I've been watching him since 21 Jumpstreet series on TV back in the day. Not only is he a great actor and can adapt to just about any role, yes he is hot.

he is an amazing actor, not overrated...have you seen any of his movies? he does an excellent job in all of them!!!!!! there is no one else like him. he doesn't follow the crowd and he isn't afraid to be himself, unlike so many other actors!!!!!!!!! and he is hot, escpecially in eyeliner!!!!!!!
