I'm living in a rural area. What's it's like in larger cities ( California )
now. Alright, other states too! :)

You could get married and that can be done anywhere...

If you're happy single, don't change a thing. There are a lot of unhappy people stuck in bad relationships.

As far as California goes, especially Los Angeles, there is always something going on. There are groups for all kinds of interests — ways to meet friends & possible partners. I always say, "If you get bored in Los Angeles, it's your own fault."

Chicago is a great city in Illinois. Lots of culture, entertainment, good food, events, etc. Be advised that it is a very cold, 'the windy city', in winter. But Michigan Avenue is lit up with magnificent decorations during the winter holidays.

NYC has plenty of entertainment and culture. The natives are upfront and friendly. Have some NY pizza — it's sure to chase the blues away!

What does staying single and living in a city or rural area have to do with one another? Am I missing something here? I live in a rural area and I'm happily married, if that helps any.

The best lifestyle is the one that works for you...whether it's single and living alone...single and living with roommates...single and dating but not living together..or living with a partner...or living with a partner and other roommates...

People are different...some want others in their life all the time...some prefer their solitude but the option to be around others when they choose...

I live in FL..I know people in all kinds of living and relationship situations here...there is no 'best' that will fit everyone...

No. I like being independent, not tied down, not having to call a significant other every day, having all that relationship stress. Yuck.

I live in surburban Philadelphia and there is plenty to do with friends than with just one person. Couples tend to neglect their friends, anyway.
