Anal Penetration for the bottom guy is mostly pleasurable because of the stimulation of the prostate, it isn't uncommon for a guy to lose his erection after penetration, but it's easy to get back =)

I can't give you a good answer, except that I think it happens more in the porn movies than in real life, and it may be related to the fact that the director is giving him directions to give certain facial expressions and move in certain ways. And they are in a room with a bunch of people with cameras and lights and stuff watching them have sex.
I know I've read about what a chore it is for the TOP guy to maintain an erection under these circumstances. He has to pretty well shut off everything going on around him and concentrate just one the business at hand, and/or his sexiest fantasy.

Collegedebt is right on the money. It happens in real life because there is no direct penile stimulation; the sensations of being penetrated can be distracting because the focus of the intimate contact is focused elsewhere. It isn't shrivelled and finished, it's just crouched and waiting to strike!

I do not really know, but probably the pleasure is mostly on the anal not on the penis. But this is in the movie, where it is not easy to stay hard all the time. In reality might be different.
