to hook up with lesbians?

2006-08-01 14:15:44 · answer #1 · answered by Zippy 7 · 0 1

Because sisters(of all colors)are doin' it for themselves. No longer should women settle for just the kitchen and the bedroom and being a homemaker(if that's your thing, then have at it!). Feminists are strong, independent, and take no shorts from anyone. And not all feminists are lesbians, either. I'm a feminist and I have two wonderful kids, a decent job, and good relationship with my significant other. There are plenty celebrities that are feminists as well, so we're everywhere. If I can bring home the bacon, fry it, take care of a home and my family..then a man can do the same thing!

Why not? A feminist is not a man hater, in fact a true feminist wants equality for all, not just women. As far as believing in preserving the established political rights as well as personal choices and control over our own bodies, many feminists are working to erase the role and influence of patriarchy in society so that women can make more contributions to society, government and culture as a whole without being ignored on the basis of gender, sex or feminine appeal.

Only questions with no good answer need long answers to compensate.

You should become a feminist because of this:
1- You believe that women are no less human than men.
2- You believe that every human is entitled to the same rights.
3- Women do not receive these same rights (or benefits, call them what you will), and therefore need people who actively care about this problem and are seeking to rectify it (and these people are feminists).

Because people seem to be under the impression that feminists are either angry lesbians or just rabid man-haters in general. It just isn't the case.

Because it's not a club where you get a membership card and learn a secret handshake. Sure, there are meetings, functions, rallies and even protests. There are also petitions, classes, charitable events.

It might mean nothing more involved than not letting your boss refer to the clerical staff as "girls". It might be associating yourself with a group with a specific local or worldwide project.

Every woman should lay claim to the term feminist and define it anyway she wishes.

You shouldnt and here is why,

They get so buttheaded about being female its annoying, Why the hell do women get offended when they're called chicks? I don't see how that word can be remotely offensive in anyway. But, some women think it's derogatory and belittling. Some women are so petty, that they resent any male implication in the english language. Who cares? What if guys suddenly felt like bitching and wanted to eradicate all the derogatory male phrases from the language? Buster, Pal, Buddy, Stud, Hunk. Oooh, don't call me a buster, I'll be offended. Who's to say what's offensive anyway? Just because a few feminist extremists think that something's offensive, does the whole society have to change their way of doing things? I don't want mother nature being called mother nature anymore, but rather father nature. I don't want ships to be referred to as female anymore, but rather male. The phrase "she's a good ship" offends me. I don't want liberty to be a lady. Why does it have to be lady liberty? Why do people say "she's beautiful" when referring to cars? Why not he? Who cares? It's just the way things have always been. It's not meant to be offensive, so why doesn't the offended party pull their head out of their ***, and stop bitching about it. Bottom line: feminazis, stop your bitching. It's nobody's fault but yours if you can't do as well as a man. Take responsibility for your own life.

There is a difference between being a feminist and a strong independent women. I think most people in our society agree that women should have equal rights and gender discrimination is wrong. But feminists go beyond that by spreading their rhetoric, and hatred. Unless you enjoy being brainwashed with radical ideas I have no idea why one should become a feminist.

There's no reason to be an extreme feminist, but a little feminism is a good thing. Some people still believe that women cannot do as much or as well as men, and a spark of feminism will prove them wrong.

Presumably to give cause for necessitating the development of a masculinist movement.
You can expect whatever you like, there is no good reason as there is no longer any way in which the vast majority of men are not now second class citizens in terms of rights and privileges.

I wouldn't I like a guy who opens doors for me and pays for dinner but aside from that I don't want to be in the front lines of wars after being drafted. There are perks to being a woman :)

Because we should be entitled to equal pay for equal work of our male counterparts. And gone are the days where a smart woman desires to sit at home and cook and clean for a man, he should be doing it for himself!
