I think you are mature when you can take responsibility for your self and accept all the consequences that come: good or bad! I think it also is a matter of accepting that you don't always know what is best but in the end you make the right choices based on life experiences and what you've learned from others. You can't let every little thing bother you. You must know when to fight and when to give in. Plus, you can't expect your parents or family to bail you out. Stick by your choices and live your life your own way.

if you need to ask, you aren't.

some people would say being mature means having a 9-5 job, not drinking or dosing, and s.h.i.tting out a kid... personally, i think maturity is not living in your parent's basement, the ability to pay your bills (or at least juggle them around successfully) and hold down a job.

You learn by stop playing kidish games, when you understand what life has to offer to you, when you have feelings and emotions that make you do things you'll regret, and when you feel like your mature enough to understand that.

When you think about consequences before you do things instead of do it first, think later. When you choose to do the right thing instead of the fun, irrisponsible thing. When you take responsibility for your own actions and don't blame anyone else. When you stop using the excuse "but everyone else does".
