Since material things are loathed by the flesh(the body), it is said that these aren't the desires of the soul, but that the soul desires more intimate and deep things, such as spiritual harmony(with God, if you are a Christian). Knowing this, do you think it is or isn't possible that just as the body may desire another body, the soul may desire another soul?

One prominent new age belief is that there are such things as "soul mates", which essentially means that somewhere out there there is another soul that is intended to be a companion to yours.
If you were to think deeply about this you would realize that a soul exists on a level, or in a state, that transcends human weaknesses and in essence human emotions including and especially desire. Its domain is that where it is in contact with its Creator and essentially has no need for the things of the material world. That it has within its reality, the sum of all Creation, what else could it desire?
