force induction!
Air intake..from Injen or AEM are prefered!

For about $350, you can get AEM air intake installed...
don't forget to buy the water Shield(Void water gets into intake to engine).

Really in any type of civic besides the type R or SI the first performance upgrade you should be looking at is a motor swap. The SOHC civic motors just don't produce much power at all. I'd start saving and do a swap, easiest thing to do would be a b16 although no torque to speak of. If you are really wanting extra power don't put a lot of money into your stock motor only to find out you want more power and need a different motor, making all the upgrades you bought useless.

I would equip it with a matched pair of anti-roll bars, sometimes called sway bars. A good high-performance pair can really help your cornering without making the ride quality feel much worse. Plus, they're one of the few performance mods out there that will make your car less visible to cops, as your car will look more composed and in control when you corner. Eibach, Addco, and Suspension Techniques make sets in your budget range (well, Addco favors just beefing up the rear bar and leaving the front stock).

Intake, Exhaust, Intercooler, Polished Pipes, Headers, SwayBar, Timer, Brakes, Lowering Springs for better grip, Remove some extra load from the car so it is lighter, consider race tires, consider Nitro for rare use,

In that order!

Good Luck

Brakes. Cant live without em. Literally.

Once the thing stops on a dime and handles at the limit then upgrade for power. Why dont people figure this out before they hit a wall?

Go for an intake for that price. K&N is probably going to be the best quality. Injen products are mostly hit or miss, especially after they split with AEM. And if you can't install it yourself, then don't even think about paying someone to do so... Just ride a bicycle... Idiots...

Your car is 10 years old. Verify it's value via bluebook. Do not put more into the car that you can get out of it. It's near time really expensive things will start going wrong. Save your money for either those expenses or a newer model car.

I'd go with lowering springs or an intake. remember.... it's a civic, it's not made to be that fast so don't expect too much unless your gonna throw a few thousand dollars at it. Have fun.

What upgrade could you possibly need? Civics already have tons of power! :D
