miscarriage is the loss of a pregnancy before 20 wks. this is usually because of a chromosomal abnormality that the body recognized and decided for you that the child would not survive.
bleeding is not necessarily a sign of miscarriage, but should be taken seriously.
signs of impending miscarriage are:
a cervix that has started to dilate
and membranes around the fetus that are broken.
these signs can be recognized before a miscarriage, but it is not avoidable once the body has decided.

Southern California Edison, our electric company, puts fliers in with their bills about the effects of EMF (electro magnetic fields) on the body. The scientists who have studied the effects do conclude that there could be a link between EMF and miscarriage. What this means to you is you will want to try to stay away from appliances that produce a high amount of EMF like the vacuum cleaner, can opener, hair dryer, flourescent lighting. Bleeding is usually the fist sign but you would need to get a doctors opinion as the cervix dialatets and it is common to have stomach pain . Sometimes you will pass a lump like liver .

I had horrible cramping and I started bleeding heavily. If you think you are having a miscarriage please go see the doctor to make sure that something don't happen to you to.

Go to a doctor if you really feel that this is likely to happen! Sometimes there are no warning signs for this!
