Saddle Oxfords are classic preppy. They came in brown and tan or dark tan and light tan. They were worn with knee socks and wool skirts.

I went to a New England prep school and Brooks Brothers brand penny loafers worn without socks were the most popular shoes. Also popular were Sperry Topsiders (originally intended for sailing).

Sperry Topsiders. The original preppy shoes from the 80's. With braided laces. OOOOOOR Penny loafers ...with a penny in them. Both were very popular preppy shoes in the 80's. Both are gawd awful uncomfortable! LOL

I wear K-swiss but that is like soo last year!so sad so sad wear what you want because at the end of the day if your not "in" with the "preps" you'll never be "in" because those people are selfish.

Converse is not it. They're more like for rockers. Don't wear sneakers. If you do wear soft color ones, like pink, light green, and white. Don't go for the Nikes and basketball shoes, they're for ghetto peoples. Try flats and pumps too.
