Well, if you are in the movie "28 days later", as soon as you contact bodily fluids, the rage virus is transmitted to you and YOU are a zombie, instantly.
BUT, if you are in the "Dawn of the Dead" movie, you have to get bitten and it takes a while, so you have time to get off and kill 'em.
