If you are not full grown yet, you have a chance. You really don't want to even go through the door of a modeling agency unless you are at least 5'7 (and even that is considered short). There are, however, different aspect of modeling you can get into. I used to work at Ames Department Store Corporate office, and it's where they shot the flyers for the Sunday paper. We had models of all shapes and sizes. They wanted folks who looked more "normal" and they weren't looking for the Super Tall / Super Thin models. Hey, even think about this funny fact.... some people do modeling strictly of hands, feet etc. lol... yes, so there are a lot of different things you can do in modeling. Don't be discouraged if you aren't the right height. If you have the drive and confidence, you WILL be able to make your dream come true some how. Good Luck :)

Anyone can be a model as long as they have the right attitude, measurements are not set in stone people look for a unique look not just a few numbers. If you are happy with the work, and don't expect overnight success, you will be fine. If you are actually thinking about it here is some advise.
I have heard a lot of bad thing about SOME (not all) modelling agencies and how they make you pay for photos and photo sessions before they take you on then never give you any work. Always check with the local Better Business Bureau in teh US or Trading Standards in the Uk or Similar organisation elsewhere.
NEVER GO ON YOUR OWN ALWAYS TAKE YOUR PARENTS!!!! BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT YOU SIGN!!!
I think a better starting place before you go to agencies is if you have a friend who is reasonable with a camera (do not have to be a professional or even that good just okay) Just take 100 photos of yourself in different poses, clothing and backgrounds then pick out 10-20 nice photos. You can then use this as a portfolio, and even better instead of printing them which cost you money every time, host them on a website and get some business cards print with the website address on and just hand these out instead. This is a far cheaper way of doing it and with no RISK. You should never have to pay to get a job if you do there is a high chance it is a scam.
However if you would like a personal portfolio site please contact me and I will set you on up for free. I can design you a fully personalised flash website with as much or little information and then host it for you. This site can contain a gallery of your photos, personal information, list of work, contact details, etc or if you prefer just a couple of photos and nothing else. It can be password protected and all images will be protected as is humanly possible, or the photos can be available to download.
Examples of work can be provided on request. Just message me here if you want, I am a professional website designer but have lots of free time (and enough money) so I am currently doing free sites for small bands, small artist etc, basically anyone who could not afford them otherwise. I have my own hosting server so can offer hosting servers or you can host the site yourselves. No images sent to me will be used for anything other than your site and I will not give anyone your detail or link to the site. You will have complete control and the site can be removed or changed at any time. This is not a scam and I will design a site for FREE, I do not need the money, and enjoy working. If you do want it message me you can tell me what you want and how you want it done and I will help.
I will need to speak to yuor parents and make sure that they know what is happening and agree with it before i do any work, sorry but it is a legal issue.

You are not fat, and you sound very cute. You are only 11 and modeling can be an ugly business, just focus on school and kid stuff and in 3 or 4 years if you're still interested maybe you can talk to an agency. Good luck, and remember modeling is not as glamourous as it appears in the media, a lot of models are drugged out and depressed with all the pressure to be underweight. By the way, all these guys on here that want you to send them your photograph--don't-- alot of them are old hairy perverts.

I don't know about a real model..you're only 11!! If you really want to do this, contact an agent and try to hook up some commercials or billboards and posters for stores (i.e. Limited Too) that kind of stuff. My friend has a modeling permit because she competes in pageants and models brand-name clothes.
P.S. Lose the snobby attitude and develop a self-confident attitude. AND stop worrying TOO much about your self appearance. You'll succeed if you are confident in yourself...confidence shines through better than the flattest abs and thinnest thighs. =D

Look, you have excess fat when Bugs Bunny castrates himself. Yes you seem like you would be a good model. I'm 5'4" and weigh 110 pounds because I wrestle, otherwise, I would be 130. I am not going to ask you out though because its odds on you live on the other side of the country than I do, and I don't IM.

Nope. Sorry hon, you're too short. Despite what some might say, there's no market for short models. Also, please don't get scammed into modeling agencies or searches, because they will just take your money. I did a TV feature on this topic, and unless you're absolutely tall and unusually beautiful, you most likely won't make it in the industry.
If you really want to model, try sending in pictures of yourself into an agency that deals with commercial modeling, but don't make it your number 1 priority.

You sound young and insecure. You sound thin which is good but don't worry about your weight. To be honest, and not knowing how old you are, models are usually taller but look at "America's Next Top Model." Anything can happen. Good luck!
