Wenn will australian and US sopporters STOP to call the world champions cheaters???
- As per the australians: we know that it was not a foul, but still it was an obstruction => check FIFA rules!!
- As per the americans: stop bashing italy and have a look at your 'honorable' bikers (Floyd Landis, Tour de France winner) and athletes (Justin Gatlin, Olympic and World Champion in the 100-meter sprint), both convicted of doping...

@irongimp: well you're right, trezeguet is an excellent striker, after all in italy (where he plays for juventus) they call him 'trezegol' for that reason

@ Alexander S: look, there's no doubt about it, that zizou is and will be one of the best football players in football history - but: IF everyone knew that he would get that pissed off that he would use palpability with an opponent then it's also common sense that such a player has nothing to do on a football field!! IF zizou (no matter what matrixx has said or not said) was that kind of gentleman he pretends to be, he would have used his brains and not his forehead to win the verbal battle between him and matrixx...

@CannForever: 'Pinturicchio' is Alessandro Del Piero's nickname... Pinturicchio was a famous italian renessaince painter, his talent was said to be god-given. When Alessandro Del Piero first showed up in world football, his trainer gave him this nick, bacause Alex was said to have an extraordinary world career... Unfortunately, he got injured and since then he never reached his standard again, although he's still a first class football player. together with zambrotta and zidane (who is another football chapter, unfortunately) he is my all time favourite Juventus player (my favourite football team, since i was 6). hope this answers your question ;)

Well I am Australian and have not been whinging or whining. Perhaps the ones that answer are simply of a different opinion to you. Perhaps there are more of us that do not buy into it by answering in the negative giving the impression that all Aussie users on this site are as you like to describe. That is a pretty broad generalisation of Australians in general and of those of us who love the sport. They are just defending their team as most Italian users did. No biggy, we have other matches to concentrate on and support the Socceroo's in now and most really are not that bothered that Australia was knocked out, as they are proud of them anyway, just more so by how and the fact that in was in the final seconds may be difficult for some . Oh and it would be good to remember that not all users that post about Australian issues are in fact Australian at all. Many are not but just offer their support and opinion.

why are you still fussing over it? I mean, so what if I am an American and a German supporter, and will continue most Italian players cheaters b/c they are. Italians did not deserve that world cup b/c how can you claim yourself as one of the best when you kicked all of the best players of French team out of the field?! Why didn't Italian players attack other French players, but were consistently attacking Henry, Vieria, Ribery, Zidane, Thuram, and Abibal. Can you explain why? why are they always the targets?! Obviously you are so blind by your country team's victory that you can't see plan behind the game. Italy played an dishonorable game, the victory really belonged to France. But life goes on... LET'S ALL LOOK FORWARD towards EURO 2008 and World Cup 2010 in South Africa. B/c who's winning EURO 2008 and WC 2010... DEUTSCHLAND!!! GERMANY !!!

Uh, not ALL American's are calling Italy cheaters. I was going for them since they got the last four teams. Otherwise, I was going for England and Argentina. And as for the doping, get over it! It's not like we're the only country that has had athletes convicted of doping! Seriously.

They'll never stop, Pinturicchio. Being in denial is something people hardly will accept.
The important thing is that WE (Italian fans) believe that Italy deserved to win the World Cup, and (as Juventina said) that the trophy is sitting in Rome for all of us to be proud of. WOOT!!!

It will take some time. Wounds take a while to heal. I was all for Italy man, but you can't negate that they made their way to the top with the assistance of bad calls from referees. Doesn't mean you (or I for that matter) and other Italy supporters should enjoy the victory any less! Viva l'Italia!

The Australians will stop calling them cheaters when they stop cheating.. simple as that really!
Congrats to your team for winning the world cup.. But Personally I would have been more proud of my team winning had they done it on talent rather then the fluky dives/penalties!

andygurl... Couldn't have said it better myself!!
QUIT WITH THE GENERALIZATION... WE'RE PROUD OF OUR SOCCEROOS -- THEY WERE FANTASTIC AND HAVE DONE MORE FOR THE GAME IN OUR COUNTRY THAN WE COULD HAVE EVER HOPED FOR!!
