Driving under the influence (alcohol) and talking on cell phone both should be held on the same platform when it come to breaking the law, both are equally dangerous, talking on a cell phone in my opinion more commonly to cause problems, since there are more people doing this that drinking and driving. For example i have been ran off the road completely twice in the past year by people have been talking on cell phone they had merge in oncomming traffic and i have swerved to miss them, and yesterday my father was at a red light and a woman talking on a cell phone plowed into his car, totaling it. When the cops came all she got was a fine and is required to pay to have my dads care fixed, but if the situation contain alcohol the woman would have been arrested, i feel punishment should be just as harsh, just wondering other peopls thought on the matter.

Talking on cellphone while driving should be made an agenda by legislators so that it will be penalized just like driving under the influence of liquor. This must be made a priority instead of delving into other issues.

"Not equally dangerous. You can hang up the phone but you can't instantly get sober"

well all though that is true, thats not quite what hes saying. if someone hangs up the phone, then gets into an accident there is othing wrong with that because the phone was not distracting them. its when people are talking on the phone for a long time. just gossipping with no intention of hanging up. being on the phone during the incident should definitely be illegal. talking on the phone in a car period is illegal in england.

I can talk on the phone and still pay attention to the road. If you can't, you probably can't listen to the radio and watch the road either.
