why do men get so arrogant and start arguments when pissed

Its not just men obviously must be women too since alcohol is a drug and by its nature changes your perception attitude because you are drunk and not sober therefore in a different state!
The whole point of taking a drug of any kind is to be not the same as you were before you took it, otherwise what would be the point in the first place.
This is the same with alcohol, Narcotics or even a paracetamol to cure a headache. That after introducing any foreign body to yourself you inevitably must be somehow different than before!!

It's not just men, women change too.
Different people react differently to alcohol. Some people feel sleepy and just shut down, others forget their inhibitions and do what they would like to do.
Many people feel repressed, so what they want to do is show what they are, show-off in a way. So they sound/look/act arrogant. And if you have more than one drunk person trying to show off, arguments start. A drunk person showing off and starting arguments with sober and reasonable people is easily ignored "just drunk", and the argument just dies off after a short while.
There's also the type of people who get violent when drunk, their arrogance takes a more physical form. And that's the dangerous type of people I think, the rest are ok.
It could even be argued that the way one acts when drunk depends on one's personality, what one is feeling and what one is repressing at that time.
My friends and I have a rule that what anyone does when drunk is forgotten.

well everybody changes in one way or another - that is the effect of alcohol
I change too !
I am relaxed, I talk more openly and loose my self control, in a way I think is appropriate. But not like some hopeless people who just want to start a fight after getting drunk.
You can say the alcohol brings out the true color of the self which might take years to read !!!

They don't call it the "truth serum" for nothing!!
No seriously, alcohol--when drank in large quantities affects the frontal lobe of the brain that controls reasoning, planning and the ability to monitor behavior in response to external feedback. Basically, when people become intoxicated they lose self control and do things on impulse without thinking rationally. Most people act out in a way they normally wouldn't, and regret it when they are sobering up. Hope this helps!! :)

I think because whenever men have a couple drinks the alcohol triggers some chemicals in the brain that makes men more careless and say things that might hurt other people.
