I believe you are asking about a very small segment of the lesbian community that does not desire to use certain toys due to horrific experiences with rape and sexual abuse. They associate the action with dominance and the toys with unpleasant sensations and experiences.

There is also a small group of separatist lesbians that refuse the use of toys based on their desire to be free of a patriarcal society.

The majority of these two groups would fall into the over 60 age group they were in their 40's when I (now 44) was a baby dyke

I am a lesbian and I do not use toys. And I am also not old school. I do not like toys and fortunately for me, neither does my partner. If I wanted to be penetrated by anything even remotely resembling a penis, I'd have a man. For those women that like toys.....that's their business. Just because some women do not like toys does not mean we're weird. Just as women who DO like toys are not weird either!!!! It's a personal preference and as long as both parties are happy then so be it!!!

***And let me add that I have not been raped, molested, or sexually abused by a man in the past. I just do not prefer to use toys. Nor am I over the age of 40! I'm actually young!

I do know a lot of lesbians that are afraid to explore with toys, especially strap ons, because they feel that it feeds into the "you need a penis" philosophy, and are afraid that they might question whether it's really true or not.

Speaking from personal experience, I love it! I think it's great to go to the adult toy store with my partner and buy things to enhance our sex life. I say "forget all about everyone else and have fun with it" because that's what it's all about.

I think they just have a mental block or something.

I guess for the same reason that some heterosexuals don't want to. They are either embarrased by them, or simply don't enjoy them. Maybe they've never used them before and are unaware of all the varieties that there are these days. Many people, both gay and straight, associate adult stores, videos, and toys with perversion. Even though that is clearly not the case.

Maybe they have grown out of playing with toys. I used to play with toys when I was 10, but I grew out of it.

Every individual is different, quit trying to fit all lesbians in to one box. (no pun intended)
