We have heat but no rain.............

2006-08-01 13:36:54 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

It has always rained, summer has always been hot. Global warming is something you wouldn't even notice for hundreds of years. What scientists refer to as global warming is around the scale of one degree per 100 years, and 100 years ago we didn't have the satellites we do know that measure global temp, so nobody can be for sure.

They said there were going to be a lot more hurricanes because of global warming. There have been 0 so far. My point is the weather is hard to predict, and nobody does it well.

CO2 is higher, but it doesn't affect global warming. How much of the air is CO2? it rounds to 0. Less than .1%

Check out "The Unfortunate Truth". This little bit of heat we are having now is just the beginning. Anybody that doesn't believe, or understand that is falling for the exact tactics used by the tobacco industry to make people think smoking was OK. By the time the wingers catch on your children will be in real trouble.

FYI, the "normal" cycles of the earth warming are NOTHING like what's happening now. The levels of C02 are off the charts from anything ever in history, and they can check C02 levels in ice back 600,000 years. That includes all the volcanoes and fires EVER.

Just because you are in a place that hot and rainy, doesn't make it a Global climatic event, Chicken Little!!!!

there are probably 200 REAL scientists who have enough research and knowledge to think there might be such as thing as global warming. However, most of the "talking heads" are just regurgitating bits and pieces of research out of context.

there are 1000's of REAL scientists who disagree with it, but since they are not in the good graces (i.e., kissing up, sucking up) of the wacko politicians, they are not quoted or used as references because they would point out the falacies and half-truths from people such as Al (internet inventor) Gore!

don't just quote press releases, actually do some research on your own and don't make up your mind until you have seen ALL the facts.

i dont believe that we are suffering from global warming, i am not under the impression that i know everything about it, but heres two points to think about

1/ the earth has been heating up and cooling down long before we were on this earth, whats to say that it is just another cycle of the heat/cool effect.

2/ we all know that the ozone layer is made up of different gases, nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide etc etc....now all that we are basically doing is using the oxygen and replacing it with either carbon dioxide (animals breathing) and carbon mon-oxide (vehicles), obviously power plants and other forms of 'polluting industries' are also contributing, but they do not simply create pollution, they remove one type of gas, normally oxygen and replacing it with another form of gas.

as per physics, matter can not be created or destroyed, so there isnt really anything more up there than there ever has been in the past, it has just been converted into a different form.

what i find more worrying about all of this, is the fact that we are creating more carbon mon-oxide and carbon di-oxide, and reducing the oxygen in the air(the stuff we breath),

there doesnt seem to be a count of what oxygen is remaining in the air in comparrison to decades ago.

could this be part of the reason there has been an explosion in asthma sufferes and other ailments?

think about it, i dont think its just down to pollution, mother nature takes care of itself

This kind of weather happened all the time, even before any human kind of pollution.

One good volcanic eruption has more effect on global warming than twenty years of pollution all at once!

Why us? Beacause we as humans cant leave well enough alone.

It is not a cause of global warming, it is due to global warming that the temeratures are so much higher.

Remember that when you drive to work, when you could walk.

Its just the weather. Its beautiful where I live now in the Mojave Desert, but miserable in places where its usually much nicer. That is sort of wierd.

yes, global warming is the result of pollution .due to which natural equillibrium has disturbed and we see floods and droughts at different locations
