I can never fall asleep, and i'm so bored all of the time, because there's nothing downstairs but a tv that has seven channels. I stay awake while everybody sleeps, because I have a sleeping disorder or something.

Rearrange your room. Read a book. Paint your nails. Call a friend. Sit here and answer as many questions as you can until you're sleepy. Do your laundry. Go to the store and buy a bunch of cheap flowers and make tiny vases all over the house. Listen to music. Write in a journal. Make popcorn and watch a movie. Go for a walk. Think about something you want to learn and research it ( ie some sort of musical instrument, painting, etc ) Play music really loud and wake everyone up and say "Hey I'm lonely, hang out with me" Take a bath with candles with smell good stuff. Get in your car and drive around screaming songs you don't know at the top of your lungs. I don't know, do what makes you happy?

Sounds like you are not working hard enough during the day. Try exercising enough that you actually get tired before you go to bed. I find that reading a book puts me to sleep faster than TV. Drink milk, eat turkey or dairy products before you go to bed. Go to bed when you feel sleepy. If I miss that sleepy moment I have a lot of trouble falling to sleep. Don't do anything that would give you a bad conscience. When you get into bed stretch every muscle in your body then think of pleasant things. Make a habit of thinking about the same things each night.Try not to think about falling asleep.

Na, you maybe like me, nocturnal naturally. Studies show most people born at night are night people, ones born earlier in the day are usually day people. If you are old enough or able you can maybe work on getting a dish, I sleep better to TV. Make sure you try to avoid exercise, food and caffeine, close to bed time. You may do better when you can keep a night schedule, it was always hard for me to do a day schedule. Well, that is why I am MidnightCat, I am like a cat and at my best at midnight. Milk and cookies have good sleep chemicals, good luck sweetie.

Take a nice , steamy bubble bath...with an aromatherapy base....use a scent that calms you....I like lavender....or ocean. With some calming, slow music in the background....try Sade...she is my favorite.....after relaxing like that you might just feel the urge to drift off to sleepy land....i hope that someones suggestion will work for you ...sleep deprivation definitely can take a toll on a person physically and emotionally. Hope u catch some Zzzzzzzzz's

Wake up early, limit caffeine during the day, add some high activity sport to your day. In the evening, when you are ready for bed, clear your mind of the stresses of the day and try reading. Nothing too heavy. Attempt sleep only when you feel yourself fighting it. Sweet dreams!

Hello fellow Insomniac!!! Watch the old version of Moby Dick and you'll be asleep in about 3 minutes. If that fails, read a book until you pass out from exhaustion.

Drink warm milk
Go to the doc; get sleeping pills. I have a sleep disorder, and, as a last resort, after trying everything else it took only for a short time. It was like my body needed to learn how to sleep again.
It didn't work perfectly, but it helped.

If all else fails, hey, ya got us to entertain you.

Try reading. It'll relax you before you drift off to sleep. You can also try some soft classical music while you're trying to fall asleep. Lord knows that stuff knocks me out in NO time. LOL
