It's physically possible, but extremely unlikely. The female egg is fertilized in a way that *usually* coincides with the ovulation cycle. Normally, a woman's smallest chance of becoming pregnant is during her period... since the egg to be fertilized and the lining in the wall of the uterus is being flushed out. Basically what changes during the ovulation cycle is the thickness of lining in the wall of the uterus. It's more difficult for an egg to implant when there is less uterine lining.

But to get a detailed calendar based on YOUR specific menstruation and ovulation cycle, there's a free tool you can use here http://www.ovulation-calendar.com/. It's free for 45 days. Don't worry; it doesn't start charging you after 45 days. It just doesn't work anymore unless you buy it. Looking at the visual of a calendar/chart (catered specifically to you) will explain the pregnancy cycle better than anyone here could. Seeing it drawn out makes it much easier to understand. (It was for me.) I highly suggest this tool, and have used it plenty of times myself.

P.S. PLEASE PLEASE ignore all the people who say it's impossible to get pregnant while on your period. It is NOT. It is always possible. Eggs can even be fertilized while in the fallopian tube. This is called an ectopic pregnancy. These people do not know what they're talking about. I even know a couple of women who got pregnant after being told by a doctor that they were infertile. It is ALWAYS POSSIBLE to become pregnant unless you have gone through menopause. Even pills and condoms are not a guarantee.

Different factors like where you are in your ovulation cycle, birth control pills, and condoms make a huge difference in how LIKELY it is that you will become pregnant. Less than 1% likely while using birth control (correctly). Less than 2% likely while using a condom (sometimes they break). Less than 5% likely while observing the "rhythm method," which involves detailed monitoring of your ovulation cycle. However, most people do not keep up with this method correctly and the liklihood jumps to 20%.

So continue to (or begin to) pay attention to those factors. However, don't fool yourself into believing that you're exempt from the possibility. You're not. None of us are.

Meaning they do not have there period every 28-30 days or they have there period to often , so there day of fertility can be earlier and in combination with that it takes about 24 hours for the sperm to reach there destination and they can live up to 72 hours

Yes of course you can! Once you start your period there is ALWAYS a chance of pregnancy, at anytime. It is less likely to conceive when on your period. But don't take the chance, use protection. Read the whole paragraph below but pay attention to the very end!

YES! Yes, Yes, every woman is on her own ovulation cycle (some right before she bleeds, some right after, and some in the 3 weeks inbetween). Sperm can live for 48 hours in a woman's body.

I know some of the others say no, but I promise you it is possible.

No. You must have sex while you are ovulating. Consult a doctor or try one of those over the counter ovulation detector kits to determine when that is.

Note to remember, sperm can live a few days after being ejaculated into your body. If you have intercourse before you ovulate, and it stays in you, and then you ovulate, you run the chance of getting pregnant.

However, you CANNOT get pregnant while you are in your period.

Yes. Why are so many young girls disgusting and having sex while on their period? If you don't use protection, you shouldn't have sex. It's not as common to get pregnant when you're on your period but it can happen depending on your cycle.

it depends. you can get pregnant while you are bleeding if it is the same time you are ovulating-that does happen-it can be caused by things like stress. other than that no. the reason being, before you start your period, the egg dissolves and is no longer able to be fertilized. ask a science teacher next time honey, you wont get so confused by different answers.
